My first day in Iceland

Just after one day I have found another favorite country of mine, Iceland!
Cold, interesting, different, energetic, artistic and much more.... We walked around the city and enjoyed the atmosphere, the Hallgrimskirkja, the oldest timber house, the City Hall a postmodern construction with an impressive man made 3D map (17 man years to make) in papier mache of Iceland with all mountains and volcanoes, the Harpa which is the music hall, the busy harbour. I even had time to eat the most fantastic red fish and buy an Icelandic hand knitted sweater. And we went whale and puffin watching. The puffins have an island of their own and there are ten thousands of them. They look amazing with their red beaks, almost looking as a parrot! They are true to their mate through their life time and they return every year to their island, their nest and their mate!
Now it is 11 pm it is still daylight and we just wonder when are we going to sleep!!! It is hardly dark for 2 hours per 24 hours.Tomorrow to the southwestern part of Iceland and new adventures!

Nu har jag hittat ett nytt favoritland, Island! Vackert på sitt sätt, intressant, annorlunda, fullt av energi, artistiskt och så mycket mer. Vi har promenerat runt hela centrum, sett allt som Reykjavik har att erbjuda som intresserar oss och vi har åkt båt och tittat på valar och puffins, typ lunnefåglar. Jag har inhandlat en typisk isländsk kofta och ätit en fantastisk fisklunch! Till nya äventyr imorgon i sydvästra delen av ön!
